Object description

Ostracon, irregularly shaped. Sketch on one side in red, yellow, black, blue and white. It is divided into two separate sections which are surrounded by a frame in yellow and red. In the upper section , to the left, facing right, is a standing man with his arms raised. His body and face are coloured red, the wig black. He is wearing a pleated kilt. To the right of the man is a table, on a pillar, coloured blue. It is not possible to distinguish what was once on the table. Above it, and to the right of the man’s head is an inscription in black. To the right in this section stands a left facing god. There are two pillars, with a garland in between them. The upper body of the god is yellow, the headdress is blue and the beard is red. He is holding a sceptre and a djed(?) -sign. The god is Ptah, standing on a platform shaped as the Maat-sign.

The lower section there is also has a man, standing on the left facing right. The body and face is coloured red, the wig black and the pleated kilt he is wearing, white. In the right hand, he is holding a paintbrush, in his left a yellow palette. Above him is a vertically running inscription in black. To the right of him is a table, coloured yellow. On the table are indistinguishable objects in blue and red. These are offerings to the god, which is sitting to the right on a podium with steps leading up to it, coloured blue. It is a monkey which is sitting on the podium, the body is coloured blue, the face red. It is holding a palette in one paw. This is Thoth.

Ostrakon, oregelbundet formad. Skiss på den ena sidan i rött, gult, blått och vitt. Den är uppdelad i två separata sektioner som är omgivna av en ram i gult och rött. I den övre sektionen, till vänster, vänd åt höger, finns en stående man med sina armar upphöjda. Hans kropp och ansikte är färgade röda, peruken är svart. Han bär en veckad kjol. Till höger om mannen finns ett bord, på en pelare, färgat blått. Det är inte möjligt att urskilja vad som en gång fanns på bordet. Ovanför det, och till höger om mannens huvud finns en inskription i svart. Till höger i denna sektion står en gud vänd åt vänster. Det finns två pelare med en girland emellan dem. Gudens överkropp är gul, huvudbonaden är blå och skägget är rött. Han håller i en stav och ett djed(?)-tecken. Denne gud är Ptah, ståendes på en plattform formad som ett Maat-tecken.

I den nedre sektionen finns också en man, stående till vänster, vänd åt höger. Kroppen och ansiktet är rödfärgat, peruken svart och den veckade kjolen som han bär är vit. I den högra handen håller han en pensel, den den vänstra en gul palett. På bordet finns objekt i blått och rött som inte kan urskiljas. Dessa är offer till guden som sitter till höger på ett podium, kroppen är blåfärgad, ansiktet rött. Den håller en palett i ena tassen. Det här är Thoth.
