- Object description
Ostracon, irregularly shaped. Sketch on one side in red, yellow, black, blue and white. It is divided into two separate sections which are surrounded by a frame in yellow and red. In the upper section , to the left, facing right, is a standing man with his arms raised. His body and face are coloured red, the wig black. He is wearing a pleated kilt. To the right of the man is a table, on a pillar, coloured blue. It is not possible to distinguish what was once on the table. Above it, and to the right of the man’s head is an inscription in black. To the right in this section stands a left facing god. There are two pillars, with a garland in between them. The upper body of the god is yellow, the headdress is blue and the beard is red. He is holding a sceptre and a djed(?) -sign. The god is Ptah, standing on a platform shaped as the Maat-sign.
The lower section there is also has a man, standing on the left facing right. The body and face is coloured red, the wig black and the pleated kilt he is wearing, white. In the right hand, he is holding a paintbrush, in his left a yellow palette. Above him is a vertically running inscription in black. To the right of him is a table, coloured yellow. On the table are indistinguishable objects in blue and red. These are offerings to the god, which is sitting to the right on a podium with steps leading up to it, coloured blue. It is a monkey which is sitting on the podium, the body is coloured blue, the face red. It is holding a palette in one paw. This is Thoth.
