Object description: Slightly everted rim; body concave below rim, bulging below handles, concave above base; horizontal, flattened handles below rim; ring base. Buff clay; red ochre wash; black glaze. Interior, upper body and handles partly red; bottom reserved except black band around base edge; two painted, concentric circles on bottom centre.

Comments: The differing colours probably are a sign of stacking during firing.; A skyphos (pl. skyphoi) is a deep-bowled drinking vessel with a low foot and two short handles that are usually horizontal. They were usually made of clay but could also be made of precious metals, such as silver or gold leaf, and cameo glass.
