Description

You will find parts of the Greek and Roman collections along one side of the central hall. One section highlights the ancient mythology. Below are pottery and sculpture with motifs taken from the Greek myths, such as the deities Athena, Apollo and Artemis, and the heroes Achilles, Heracles, Orpheus and exciting adventures. Also the symposium, the Greek men's drinking, is depicted in a booth . Here you will find all the different parts of tableware and many images of Dionysos , the god of wine.

In lapidariet, the center hall stone gallery, you are face to face with the marble portraits of Roman emperors and individuals, as well as reliefs and altars for worship and remembrance of the deceased. (www.medelhavsmuseet.se, 2009-07-13, google translate)
