Two tiered design: Upper section – Presentation scene of seated deity facing left, wearing horned headdress and dressed in a flounced robe, the suppliant goddess (this is not altogether clear and there may be some recutting in area of head and arms) is dressed in a long pleated robe with double hem edging. The goddess appears to be leading a third figure who seems to be wearing a cap with a slight point (or with a pointed hair style) and is dressed in a long robe with a vertical fringe, his nearer arm bent upwards in salutation. To the side a seated quadruped (?) lion facing left and spread-eagled (?) demon (bird of pray with (?) hair streaming out at back; inscription. A single line, worn in parts, divides the upper from the lower tier.
Lower section – two identical figures wearing slightly pointed caps (or with pointed hairstyles). Dressed in long robes with vertical fringes, each stand before a date palm, their hands raised in salutation; a third figure facing left, wearing a kilt, is in combat with a winged lion monster or griffin, to the side of this, a third scene of two dwarfs dancing.
Cuneiform inscription in two columns on the upper section: d’Adad d’Samas could be the name of the owner. Although this is the form engraved on the cylinder the standard inscription of this type for this period is as follows: -- d’Utu = Samas = Samsi – Adad d’IM = Adad. Helen Merrillees catalogue 1995.
Cylinder seal with vertical bore. Engraving in two-tiered design, separated by a single line.
In upper section a presentation scene of a seated deity, facing right, wearing a horned headdress and a flounced robe. A suppliant goddess (?), dressed in a long, pleated robe with double hem edging, appears to be leading a third figure, with one arm raised, and dressed in a long robe with vertical fringe and possibly a pointed headdress. Further to the right are a seated quadruped (lion?), a spread-eagled demon (?) or bird of prey (?), and a cuneiform inscription in two columns reading: dÁdad d´Samas, which could designate the name of the owner.
In lower section are two identical figures, standing in front of a date palm, with raised arms, wearing pointed headdresses (or pointed hairstyles), and long robes with vertical fringes. Further right is a third figure, dressed in a kilt, fighting a winged lion or monster griffin. To the right of the winged creature are two dancing dwarfs.
