MM 2014:004 :: Relief, Stele
- Object description
The motive is framed by Greek inscriptions both on the architrave and on the narrow plinth. The pediment is crowned by three akroteria.
A bull is depicted in relief. The body of the bull is seen from the side with the tail following the curvature of the back of the animal. The bull’s head is en face with two horns and one ear visible. The outer legs are nicely sculptured in relief while the inner legs are vaguer in contour. The two hind legs are slightly bent and the front legs are straight giving the impression of a bull in motion of turning towards the viewer.
