Object description: An axe/hammer? head with tetragonal shape. The central part of the axe head is perforated by a circular hole, drilled from two directions and therefore not entirely straight, The hole is 1.6 cm in diameter. One side (the upper side) is inscribed.

Comments: The greek inscription is a dedication to Zeus Alsènos. Maybe that the "épiclèse" Alsènos comes from "alsos", which means "holy wood". In my opinion, the axes could be in connection with the ritual cutting of holy trees, or with the sacrifice of ox/bulls, or both. (Hadrian Bru)
