Rydén, Stig (1908-01-19 - 1965-04-12), intendent

Beskrivning: Stig Rydén, född 19 januari 1908, Helsingborg, död 1965, fil.dr., intendent vid Statens Etnografiska Museum. Expedition till Argentina och Bolivia 1932, Bolivia och Peru 1938/1939. Expedition till Bolivia 1951. Stig Rydén (1908-1965), elev till den framstående (syd-)amerikanisten Erland Nordenskiöld (död 1932) och verksam vid Etnografiska museet i Göteborg (1940-tal), var sedan verksam på Etnografiska museet i Stockholm tills hans plötsliga frånfälle i tjänsten. Rydén inriktade sin arkeologiska och etnografiska forskning på Sydamerikas indianer i Argentina, Bolivia och Chile men även på t.ex. Linné-lärjungen Pehr Löfling och på frihetshjälten Francisco de Miranda från Venezuela. Stig Rydén gjorde dessutom ett viktigt bidrag om den berömda "Nya Sverige"(?)-samlingen på Skoklosters slott. De tämligen få föremålen i samlingen kan sägas spegla bredden i Rydén indianintresse. Litteratur, se t.ex.: ...SB, 2011-02-09.
