I. 0236 :: Armour
- Object description
Reconstructed armour consisting of 6800 iron splints of five different types; all scale-shaped with straight long sides and pierced. The splints were arranged in overlapping horizontal rows; the splints in each row also overlap. The short rounded ends of the splints were turned down.
There were no remains of metal nails on the iron splints - they must have been laced or sewn on a lining of cloth and leather. The bronze splints are very few and were probably used as borders.
