Object description

Oboe i trä och mässing med åtta hål och dekorationer i koppar och med fäste förmodligen för silketofs.

So-na (pinyin: suona) introducerades i Kina från Centralasien med den muslimska expansionen, förmodligen på 1300-talet. Det användes först i militären men nu vanligt i religiösa processioner och vid teatern där det markerar särskilt viktiga ögonblick. Det kommer från arabiskans zurna för samma instrument./CR
