Object description

Parerplåt (tsuba) av metall med gulddetaljer, mokko-formad, och motiv av krysantemum samt sannolikt kikyo ("kinesisk blåklocka", båda är höstmotiv) på nanako-grund.

Nanako betyder bokstavligen fiskrom och är en granulationsteknik där fina små prickar packas tätt samman på ytan. Det är en gammal teknik med anor från tidig Nara-period (710-794). Se The Shogun Age Exhibition 1983 s 271. (PH)

Object description: Tsuba. I fyrpassform med blommor i relief Själva blommorna förgyllda. Icke signet., rad. 6.8 cm. x 6.3 cm.
