Patrick Amos was born in Friendly Cove on Nootka Island in 1957. He is from the Hesquiat Band of the Nuu chah nulth Nation on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

He attended Christie residential school on Meares Island before moving to Victoria where he came into contact with other native artists. There he worked closely with Art Thompson and Tim Paul.

Patrick currently lives in port Alberni and commutes to Uclulet where he teaches native art to young people./Is

Patrick Amos bor med sina söner i Port Alberni. Han har varit konstlärare i skolorna hos nuu-chah-nulth substammen ucluelet. Själv är Patrick Amos hesquiaht och har arbetat mycket med Tim Paul som även han är hesquiaht. (information Johan Gurt november 1994)
