mask (ansiktsmask), skulptur, figur

- Object description
Bassa mask.
"At first glance some Bassa masks could be mistaken for Dan, but Bassa specificity is so striking that such confusion could not reasonably continue. A few Bassa masks are carved along the straight, vertical lines of the typical face mask. However, most Bassa masks curve smoothly, assuming a quarter-moon configuration... The peculiar construction of the mask is determined by the way it is worn: not on the wearer's face, but fatened obliquely to a basked." ref. Meneghini, 1972.
