Stanley Hunt is the grandson of Mungo Martin, the legendary Kwa-Gulth chief, the son of Henry Hunt and brother to Richard Hunt all of whom are of international reputation. As a younster he was tutored by his talented family and has an excellent understanding of his native tradition in all its rich variations. Stanley specializes in mask carvings which are used in the famous Kwa-Gulth potlatch dances. He works alongside of his father in carving the great native totem poles. His prints reflect his involvement with carving and demonstrate his understanding of his native tradition.
Stanley lives on Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia, Canada with his wife and children./Is
