Object description

Ett knyte fjädrar hopbundna med rep och läder. Föremålets tidigare sakord är "fetisch", det är dock troligare att det är en Mpiya - viska för divination. Se "Art and the healing of Bakongo" för liknande föremål- "19.1.642. Mpiya, whisk for divination¿ The handle is made of a cloth tightly sewn into a cylinder; below it the butt is wrapped in fur. Above the cloth there is a section to which has been tied what appears to be chicken down and a piece of the hide of some hairy animal. The top or plume consists of rooster feathers".
