Object description

Balja av trä överklätt med läder. Baljans "spets" är bred och cirkelformad. På framsidan finns två korta läderhällor.

"This type of sword /¿/ was adopted by the Yaka from their cultural and political masters, the Lunda-Chokwe of Angola. It served as weapons of war, but became almost entirely ceremonial with the introduction of firearms". (African metal implements. weapons, tools and regalia. s.197) (HTB)
