Nils Carl Gustaf Fersen Gyldenstolpe, född 1886, död 1961, greve, hovman, zoolog. Kabinettskammarherre, assistent vid Riksmuseets vertebratavdelning, Naturhistoriska riksmuseet 1914–54. Han deltog bl.a. i prins Wilhelms expedition till Centralafrika 1920–21 och företog egna forskningsresor till Siam 1911–12 och 1914–15 samt till Nya Guinea 1951.

Son till August Gustaf Fersen Gyldenstolpe och Hedvig Fredrika Alice Nieroth.

Nils Carl Gustaf Fersen Gyldenstolpe (30 September 1886 - 10 April 1961) was a Swedish explorer, zoologist and ornithologist. Born in the central Swedish province of Jämtland, he visited Lapland from 1906 to 1909 and joined the expedition of Dr. Paul Rosenius to southern Algeria. He also visited Thailand in 1911-12 and the Malay peninsula in 1914-15. He studied at the University of Uppsala and joined under Professor Lonnberg at the Department of Vertebrates of the Naturhistoriska Riksmuseum in Stockholm. He continued to work here throughout his life. In 1924 he obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Lund for his studies on the birds of Central and eastern Africa. (Wikipedia, 2015-11-05)

Svenska zoologiska expeditionen till Centralafrika (1921)

Beskrivning: En zoologisk expedition, utsänd på uppdrag av Naturhistoriska riksmuseet för att samla in växter och djur, bl.a. 14 bergsgorillor (som var fridlysta redan då). En ca 300 mil långa resa som genomfördes under perioden januari-oktober. Färden gick från Victoriasjön västerut till gränstrakterna mellan Uganda och Belgiska Kongo och därifrån norrut genom Sudan till Egypten. Gorillajakt genomfördes bland Virungavulkanerna norr om Kivusjön, men även lejon- och elefantjakt. Prins Wilhelm deltog liksom filmaren Oscar Olsson och greve Nils Carl Gustaf Fersen Gyldenstolpe. Resan filmades och resulterade i filmen "Med prins Wilhelm på afrikanska jaktstigar" (1922).
Wilhelm skrev reseskildringen "Bland dvärgar och gorillor".
