Object description

Kranium. Röd/gulfärgat. Mot vänstra bakhuvudet ett hål (traumafraktur), Diam ca 3-5 cm. Även en godartad bentumör (osteoma) på pannan/frontale. Uppgift enligt originalkatalogen: "Kranium. Utan underkäke. Nya Guinea?".

Osteologisk analys av Damien Huffer, Stockholms Universitet 2018-02: man, 30-35 år. Most sutures obliterating or tightly aligned. Dental wear appropriate for age. Internal sutures observed via FM and hole in left parietal. Hole is post mortem. Robust male. Mandible missing. Undecorated or modified save for small traces of red paint on R. parietal at temporal suture and L. parietal at lambdoid suture. No obvious osseous pathology of any kind. No observable trauma. Calculus on M1s but otherwise healthy teeth (save for wear). No mandible.
