Evans-Pritchard gjorde sitt första fältarbete hos nuer-folket 1930 då "...he spent around three and a half months in Leek territory at Yahnyang and Pakur on the Bahr el Ghazal, in Lou territory at Muot Dit, and at Adok, amongst the Dok Nuer" (information i databasen för föremål med inventarienummer 1931.66.11, Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford).
