- Object description
Kranium. Delvis röd/brunfärgat, som av fläckar.
Osteologisk analys, Damien Huffer 2018-02: man, 25-30 år. Sutures mostly open, small open M3 crypts present. No mandible. rUM1 and UM2 show minimal wear., but lingual cusp flattening with small dentine patch on c1 rUM1. Sex estimate scores mixed but lean male, especially in the face. Orbits and glabella robust, face broad. Moderately dirty with significant amount of dirt or soil staining in orbits, nasal cavity, and unevenly across the cranium in patches. Looks to be more medium-dark brown organic residue than soot. Teeth heavily stained below the crown. Other patches of white or black staining perhaps fungal residue. Faint remnants of red decoration (paint or pigment?) on left orbit and upper frontal, right parietal, left occipital also present. No discernible motif. No trauma or obvious osseous pathology. No caries, minimal calculus. Periodontal disease suggested by receded alveolus around the roots of the remaining molars, especially lingual side. Left UM1 lost antemortem w/crypt in process of closing. Very minimal postmortem damage.
