Sixten Bocks söderhavsexpedition (1917-1918)

Beskrivning: År 1917-1918 reste Sixten Bock och Ch. Hessle till Söderhavet. Resan gick över Sibirien till Japan och därifrån till Australien —Samoa—Tongo—Fidji—Australien—Salomonöarna—Gilbert- (idag Kiribati) och Elliceöarna—Bismarckarkipelagen—N. Zeeland—Cooks öar —Tahiti och hem över Amerika. Längsta uppehållet gjordes på Gilbert- och Elliceöarna, vilkas marina littoralfauna undersöktes av Bock, under det att hans medhjälpare, docenten Ch. Hessle, på samma sätt studerade Marshallöarna och Carolinerna. Även etnografiska samlingar gjordes.
