NME 028 :: Stele, Relief
- Object description
- Stela, rounded top, damaged base and edges at the top. Relief in two separate sections. In the upper one, the falcon headed god Harsiese is sitting to the left on a stool. He is wearing the double crown (mostly missing), a long wig, a wide collar, bracelets and a short kilt. In his outstretched left hand he is holding a sceptre, in the right hand a life-sign. To the right of the god stands a tall table with a libation vessel on it. Further to the right stands a man, facing the god, ie the left, bringing an offering to the god. He is wearing a long, curly wig, a collar and bracelets and a long, pleated kilt. This is the owner of the stela, Nachi. In his right hand is a vessel containing burning incense. In the lower section are three left facing, seated relatives of Nachi. They are kneeling , their hands are raised, two of them have vessels in one hand, containing burning incense. All three are wearing long curly wigs and jewellery like Nachi. Mounted with metal pins on wooden wall.
