MM 18437 :: tapestry, textile fragment

Object description: Fragment of sleeve decoration, colours red, green, black and yellow. In the centre of the textile there is a medallion containing a bust of an orant with halo. On either side of the medallion, there are two horizontal bands each containing a ”swimming” figure (possibly depicting putto), both facing the medallion. The textile has a three band border on top and bottom, outer band consists of multicoloured ”gems”, middle band consists of a repetitive ”petal” pattern, inner border consists of a band containing black lines.
