MME 1969:743 :: tapestry, textile fragment

Object description: Fragment of decorative band, colours red, green, yellow, black and yellowish white. Fragment consists of decorative band with a lozenge lattice design and stylized fish, two animal figures (possibly depicting crabs), and a stylized flower. There is a human figure on the right, only head and part of hand remain, the figure has a halo and elaborate hair, the hand is holding an unidentifiable object. On either side, there are finely drawn leafy scroll rinceau borders.
