- Object description
- Everted rim; wide neck with slightly concave profile; ovoid body; rounded loop handles on belly; raised, flaring base. Reddish yellow clay; yellowish brown slip; semilustrous, black paint, misfired to red at places. Rim edge painted; on two sides of neck metope and triglyph frieze: two metopes with hatched, long-necked bird, in the background a star, flanking a central panel with ‘sunbirst’; frieze framed by horizontal lines; below frieze row of solidly painted birds of varying size; above both handles a panel with two wiggly lines; in handle zone mnetope and triglyph frieze: three metopes on each side of body with ‘sunbirsts’ and panels with one wiggly line between triglyphs; below frieze horizontal lines; lower body and base painted.
