Object description: Bell krater. Wide mouth with grooved, overhanging rim; tall, slender body; rolled-up handles at upper body; lower body tapering to a stem; tall base in two degrees. Red clay; black glaze; added white paint. Laurel branch encircling mouth; A: a satyr in panther’s skin holding a thyrsos and maenad with a white tambourine dancing to the left; to the right a seated satyr with a tambourine and an ecstatic maenad holding a thyrsos; in the background clusters of grape; a dotted disc as filling ornament; B: three conversing youths in himatia; in the background to the right a column; a quadrated disc as filling ornament; area beneath handles and at base of handle attachments reserved; below figures on both sides a meander border.
