- Object description
- Athena Parthenos. Squarish, the shape of the boulder still visible. The goddess wears a peplos with rich folds and the aegis with scale-pattern; in the centre of the aegis the head of Medusa and coiling snakes along the border; her shield is standing next to her left leg and her left hand is holding on to it; a snake coils at base of shield; the back is unworked, except for the hair of the goddess.
