- Object description
- Standing, female figure with stylised body; she wears a polos and has a large volute on the front side of the polos; the face is small and pinched, no features are indicated, except for the painted eyes; long and thick neck; roughly triangular arms; solid, flat body, flaring out at base; concave underside. Pale brown clay; reddish brown slip; dark brown to reddish brown paint. Top of polos painted; three long, curly plaits – indicated by wavy lines – fall down on the back, and two on the front side of the body; seven horizontal strokes decorate the volute; she has large eyes consisting of circles with a central dot; she wears a pomegranate pendant around the neck; the dress is indicated by five vertical bars on each arm, by wavy lines below the girdle and by vertical tongues topped by a horizontal band close to the base; the girdle is indicated by horizontal, wavy lines and dots, alternating with horizontal lines.
