pithoid jar
- Object description
- Raised ring-base; piriform body; three horizontal handles on shoulder; short, wide concave neck; flat, splaying rim. Hard, light buff clay; semi-lustrous light buff slip; lustrous red paint. Bands encircling base and body; traces of paint on inside rim. There has been a scale pattern between the handles (SCE I, Text, p. 519); now obliterated.
