- Ring-base; depressed ovoid body; short, convex neck; pinched rim; flat, slightly raised handle from rim to shoulder. Hard, buff clay; matt, light buff slip. Matt, red and black paint. Decorated in the “free-field” style; stylized bird-ornament, facing right on shoulder opposite handle; large feet; wing filled with red paint and black, curved lines; other wing lifted with concentric lines; small rhomboid filled with red paint between lifted wing and neck; long, curved neck with long beak; vertical line of chevrons below head; black line encircling neck-base; red line encircling neck; two red encircling black lines below rim; circular eye-ornament on one side of rim; rim painted; black, vertical, wavy line on handle; sides of handle painted black; a black hook ornament, so called tassel-ornament below handle.
