MM Acc 0887 :: jug

Object description: Everted, cut rim. Splaying neck. Ridge around neck at the level of the top of the handle. Barrel-shaped, rather globular body. Vaguely indicated nipples on either side of body. Flat handle from lower part of neck to shoulder. Decoration in black and red paint. On body, opposite and below handle, arranged vertically, two winged hatched lozenges, with hatched triangle below. Encircling bands and lines frame the lozenges. Framed, wavy line on handle. Bands and lines on neck and interior lip. Short strokes on rim. Encircling bands and lines on either side of body, maltese cross around each nipple.
