- Object description
- Large statuette with hollow body, oval in section. Upper and lower body separately made. Upper part of lower body truncated for attachment. Back-hole on upper body. Right arm bent across breast. Right hand holds small animal, buck or lamb, close to body. Concave neck. Oval head with rather narrow, rounded chin. Incised mouth with full lips. Thin nose with up-turned tip and incised nostrils. Semi-lunar eyes with lids in low relief. Feathered eyebrows. Ears with earrings. Hair falling in compact mass with curved sides on back of head. Head covered with conical helmet with uplifted cheek-pieces and top bent back. Dressed in chiton with short sleeves. Vertical folds at waist. Bare legs. Feet joined by small base. Modelled toes. Traces of red colour on legs. Black on left foot. Light-brown clay.
