- Object description
Rectangular shape, beaten brass, incised and inlaid decoration. Body; exterior divided into three horizontal registers, central inscription on floral background and in upper and lower register, circular medallions on a regular distance show alternately rosettes and svastika-motifs. Inscription regularly intersected by circular medallions featuring a sixpointed star on a geometrical pattern based on the sixpointed star.
Interior; walls on long sides feature knotted plain silver bands in rectangular sections. On the end, three circular medallions on floral background linked by plain band. The central medallion has an arabesque, the two others are starshaped. Bottom; three star medallions linked with circular rosettes, outlined with arabesque on a background of double Ys. The fields are outlined with arabesque. The interior inkpart is missing.
Lid, exterior, upper part idem sides of body, but registers separated by meander bands. Sides, idem but only one register. Inside, Tree registers, central inscription on floral ground, in center arabesque medallion. Upper and lower succession of circular arabesque medallions on a doub le-Y ground sides almond-shaped incisions.
