Object description

Fragment of globular bowl, vertical rounded foot. Thick clear glaze pooled in tondo, glazed exterior with drips exterior foot. Decoration: interior: Tondo central four-lobed flower in cobalt, fine black dots interior while outside foliage in reserve on background of black hatching. Tondo delineated by interlocking swastika pattern in thick band outline in black and infilled with cobalt blue (which has run under the glaze). Exterior zones apparently also enclosed by this motif, they contain (pseudo-) epigraphic motif in thick black hand on white ground infilled with fine black dots. Exterior concentric black bands and band of irregular sideways "V's immediately above foot. upper zone apparently contains cobalt blue stripes alternating with stripes of "V" shapes. Friable fabric white stonepaste.
