Object description

Body sherd of globular bowl. Clear to greenish glaze, black and cobalt UGP. Decoration: Interior: parallel rays cobalt stripes, stripes in fine black line infilled with geometric compartments, cobalt and black fragmentary motif in adjacent area. Exterior simple plant motifs formed of three brush strokes inside frond-shaped compartments, in fine black line, two parallel black bands form lower boundary. Friable white stonepaste.

Ware: Clear glaze black cob UGP.

Skärva från kroppen av en globulär skål. Klar till gråaktig glasering, svart och kobolt. Dekoration: Inre: parallella streck i kobolt, streck i fina svarta linjer ifyllda med geometriska avdelningar, kobolt och svart fragmentariskt motiv i intilliggande område. Yttre, enkelt växtmotiv formade av tre penseldrag inuti en ormbunksliknande indelning, i fin svart linje, två parallella svarta band från den nedre gränslinjen. Skör vit stenpasta.

Description: Upstairs, in interaction with the Baghdad Cafe, opened in February 2009, the upper gallery. A rich variety of objects retrieved from the museum's storerooms, many of them shown for the first time. A series of booths filled to the brim with beautiful vases functions as a traditional study collection of ancient ceramics. Other booths highlights the thematic elements of the ancient world: the subject of everyday and festive, and images of gods, humans and animals.
