human remains

- Object description
- Two adults+subadult. Male/female?
- Object description
The remains in the material marked IB:1 are very poorly preserved, represented by only a few fragments of cranium, vertebrae, and a few long bones. The teeth left in the maxilla have all been crushed, the crowns mostly entirely gone, some roots still remaining in their sockets. It
is, however, evident that the remains are of an at least adult individual, considering the robustness of the fragmented elements.
There seems to be no remains depicted on the tomb sketch that has been marked with the letter I, and no mention of this can be found in Kenyon’s report. As all letters between A and M are represented except I, however, this is perplexing. Furthermore, no remains in the material are marked with an I, and it is uncertain why the remains here were denoted IB:1 and if they could be connected with the missing letter I. These remains, being so poorly preserved, could perhaps also be interpreted as some additional remains with uncertain association. Due to uncertainties, these remains have nevertheless been treated as a separate skeleton. Hietanen, Linnea, p.27.
