Object description

Kanna i lergods, gråvitt, porslinsartat gods, rak form med vinkelböjt handtag, smal svängd pip, med mörkt grön glasyr dekorerad med blommor, pioner (paeonia albiflora) låg relief, svart botten. På skuldran bladornament. Höjd: 23,6 cm, Diam: ca.12,5 cm.

Kina, Liao (907- 1125).

Dear sir or madam, the ewer was made from a Sichuan kiln, very likely from the Guanyuan kiln. A very similar ewer is in the Museum für Ostasiatische Kunst in Cologne, you find it on the museum's website, and it was published by Jiena Huo (Köln MOK, Feuer und Erde, 2008, S. 200, Kat.-Nr. 159).
