Object description

Enligt katalogkort: “Chinese rhinoceros wine cup. Period: 17th century. Description: Dark brown at base turning into paler brown upwards. Exterior decorated with garden terrace with banana trees, where woman and child stand under a wu-t’ung tree, of which a branch also grows over the rim on inside. Measures: H. 114mm L. at lip 135mm, at base 50mm. Purchased: In London 1965 at Bluett &Sons. £ 75-0-0. Bequest of H.M. King Gustaf VI Adolf. No 2435.”

Enligt HM-kort: Noshörningsbägare med dekor i relief, kvinna på terrass och bananträd.

Material: Noshörningshorn, mörkt vid foten och ljusare uppåt.
