Ding - cooking vessel for sacrificial use. Bronze. Vessel on three cylindrical, slightly spreading legs and with two handles. S-formed profile. Marked lip. The neck divided into four panels through segmented flanges. The panels decorated with antithetical dragons - dragons and background covered by "cloud and thunder"-pattern (yunleiwen). Around the belly hanging blades with cicadas. Grooves inlaid with black substance.
Inscription: Jian / Xian ("appear, become appearent").
Shang, Late Anyang period.
