Object description

Textilfragment av siden, auberginefärgat. Mönster av clematisrankor. Enligt medföljande uppgift ””Karaori” Woven cloth of piece of No Dance dress Date about 1700 A.D.” Enligt min uppfattning är det snarare tyg av typen kinsha, dvs slingervävt (gasväv) sidentyg med guldinslag. Kan ha varit avsett för kyogen- eller no-teaterdräkt. Troligen började tyg av denna typ tillverkas under ledning av kinesiska hantverkare i Sakai i Japan på sent 1500-tal.
