- Object description
Ding - kokkärl av brons för offerbruk. Kärl av halvsfärisk form med två handtag och tre cylinderformade fötter. Dekor i relief av rutmönster med meanderbårder kring cirklar (xiefangge yunleiwen) samt kring mynningen en bård av stiliserade drakar.
Ding – cooking vessel for sacrificial use. Vessel on three cylindrical legs. Hemispherical body with horisontal lip and two handles. Neck band of dragons on a background of yunleiwen. The belly covered by a diaper pattern, showing circlets surrounded by yunleiwen (so-called xiefangge yunleiwen). The relief is exceedingly low and flat all over, the lines in the principal décor being in the same plane as the now light-colored lines in the spiral ground pattern, the shallow grooves being inlaid with some black resinous substance.
Inscription on the inside below the rim: picture of a hand wielding a stick and chasing a walking animal.
