This bronze bottle has a flaring mouth and a pear-shaped bottom-heavy body on a foot. A series of raised and incised lines encircle the whole vessel from the neck to the bottom. Incised lines can also be seen on the interior surface of the mouth. On one side, there is a patch that was mended during the production. The bottle was probably turned on a lathe, in several pieces, and soldered together. The joint lines were covered with decorative lines. The foot and base were made separately and attached, probably soldered, to the body of the vessel. The bottle is almost entirely covered in a bluish-green patina.
Bottles of this shape were produced in metal and ceramics. The metal version is assumed to have been used in Buddhist rituals for holding and pouring water or as wine or water bottles in households of the Goryeo elite (Goryeo dynasty: 918-1392).
