Object description

Hårnål av ben, från Kina. Hårnålen har gått i två delar; toppen av nålen är dekorerad med någon form av djurhuvud som brutits av, klistrats dit och sedan brutits av igen. Överdelen förvaras nu löst tillsammans med föremålet.

Enligt katalogkort: “Chinese bone hairpin. Period: Shang-Yin. Provenience: Anyang. Description: On top of the solid pin is a seated bird seen in silhuette with high crest and long beak; incised details. Greyish bone. Measures: L. 150mm W. 23mm. Purchased: By Nils Palmgren in Shanghai 1935. Bequest of H. M. King Gustaf VI Adolf. No 1322. Dossier: SCA, pl. 61:2.”
