Enligt katalogkort: “Chinese lacquer box and cover. Period: Ming, Lung-ch’ing. Description: Wood, covered with thick layers in brownish-black lacquer. Octagonal, with partly rounded, partly straight sides, flat top and base. Black lacquer inlaid with mother-of-pearl in Lo-Tien technique. On cover a curling dragon persuing the pearl among the clouds. On the cover convex side-sections decor of flowers and fruits. Inscription on base: Ta Ming Lung-ch’ing nien yu yung chien ts’ao (= Covered box made for Imperial use in the Lung-ch’ing reign period of the Great Ming dynasty.) Measures: H. 120 mm. W. 226 mm. Purchased: Bequest of H.M. King Gustaf VI Adolf. No 2396. Dossier: B. Gyllensvärd: BMFEA 44/1972, Pl. 7-8.”
