- The last remaining members of the Orang Darat indigenous community are increasingly marginalized by plans for massive development on Rempang Island, Batam City, Riau Islands. Previously displaced from the forests of Batam Island, the near-extinct Batam natives are once again at risk of being displaced from Rempang Island.
