Object description

I do not know of a Wamba tribe but the Wamba River is just to the east of the Kwango, apparently in Bayaka country. This type of basket is found among the Bakwese and probably most of the tribes between the Kwango and the Kuilu, including the Bayaka. W.B.Fagg. 11.9.57.

anm. William Fagg´s antäckning här ovan avser bayaka i Kwango-området, f.d. Belgiska Kongo - kortet har återfunnits bland Efr. Andersson´s bayaka som är en annan stam med samma namn, boende omkring Sibiti, f.d. Moyen Congo, A.E.F. J.Lagergren. 29/5.1969.
