- Object description
- Black figured lekythos with white ground on body. Slightly thickned outturned rim with flat upper part, concave to convex neck with a bulge on the middle. Flat shoulder and long narrow body sloping towards flat foot. Band handle from shoulder bended in towards base of neck. Black paint on rim apart from flat upper part and on band handle. Shoulder has a row of vertical lines, a row of dots and a band of rays. Figured scene is on white ground framed by a meander and three broad black bands. Lower part of body is black apart from two smaller reserved bands. Upper side of flat base is black and lower part of edge of base. Figured scene shows from left to right a naked youth going towards the right carrying a clamyx over the right arm and a spear with the spear head pointing backwards in his left. Next is a woman dressed in a himation playing the flute. Her hair is gathered in a bun at the back and she has a band over her forehead. In front is a young man dressed in a short himation carrying in his hand a lyre. Behind all three are lines of wine.
