Me. 0641, fragment, statue

Description: Upper part of a male statue. Both arms were close to the sides. Left hand evidently holding a branch, the top of which is visible on the upper arm. The head is looking straight forwards. Triangular face. Flat eyes without lids, in the shape of myrtle-leaves. Vertical nose. Faintly smiling mouth. Curly front hair. Short, conventionalized hair on the nape of the neck. Radiating grooves over the crown. Wreath composed of ivy- and laurel-leaves around head. Dressed in a vertically folded chiton with short sleeves, and an obliquely folded himation on the left shoulder. Flat backside.
Soft, white limestone.
