Object description: Certainly not East Africa. The arrangment of the body massas, especially when seen in profile, shows that it comes from the region of the Ivory Coast, and probaly from the coastal area among the peripheral tribes of the Akan or Baule complex. The face appears to be in a very simplified or stylized version of Baule style. W.B. Fagg. 20.9.57.
