Object description: I cannot trace any Balanda or Balunda tribe in the Cameroons. But I have found the Balundu tribe in the westernmost corner of the British Cameroon Mountains, and in this area I find the Düben Falls in Andree´s Map, though not in his Gazetteer. This is also exactly the right position for the style of these pieces, which are the same as the sansas and bags found on the Nigerian side of the border among the Ekoi and Ibibio. You may therefore confidently label these pieces Balundu (You will find this name on a map at the back of Lips, Kamerun.) W.B.Fagg. 16.9.57.
