Object description: Hilt cast separately. Only lower section of hilt remains, a hollow tang with herringbone pattern incised vertically, and rounded ricasso section with checkerboard pattern in two sections of shoulder. The shoulder - ricasso is crescent shape attached to blade. Triangular blade tapers to point. Raised midrib circular (round?) in section, bordered by about 10 incised lines from hilt to near the point. Moorey calls these blood channels.

High tin bronze. Northover personal communication metallurgy seminar Uppsala fall 97: ancients were very much aware and used careful measurements for intended effect high tin. For silver appearance, easily cast?; Provtagningshål finns.

Condition

Hilt missing from grip up, otherwise intact. Both blade edges indicate having been sharpened from hilt to point. Brown colored shiny surface mottled with green.
